Sto NExt is Energy Efficient

Several design factors contribute to the overall energy efficiency of a building. One significant factor is the building enclosure. A well-insulated, air-tight building enclosure can result in significant energy savings and superior indoor climate control and comfort.

Sto NExT insulated systems provide a continuous blanket of insulation around the exterior of the structure, eliminating the many thermal breaks characteristic of between-the-stud insulation. A broad range of R-Values may be achieved by using EPS in varying thickness from 3/4" to 4" (19-102 mm).

Sto NExT systems with proper details can reduce the exterior air and moisture infiltration at foundation and wall joints, wall outlets and vents by as much as 55% compared to typical construction.

Sto NExT systems greatly reduce heat loss through the walls, which can account for up to 40% of the heat loss in non-EIFS construction.

Reduced Material Requirements

Reducing the quantity of new materials needed for a building decreases environmental impacts associated with raw material extraction and disposal of construction waste.

• Reduced Structural Requirements - A Sto NExT Insulated Wall Cladding adds very little weight to the structure in comparison to other wall claddings, which means less material is required when claculating structural beams, girders and foundation footings, particularly as the height of the structure increases.
• Buidling Reuse - Sto NExT systems can be applied to properly cleaned surfaces of many types, including masonry, cement block and even painted surfaces, extending the life of existing buildings by renewing their appearance while alleviating building problems such as poor insulation and air leakage.

Sto NExT Ensures Durability

Sustainable Design is nor just energy efficiency or low CO2 emissions; sustainable design starts with durable design followed by sound construction practices, which result in performance and longevity. Without sustainable design, most other sustainable attributes of products or systems are lost.

One key factor to ensuring the durability of the building is to protect against water intrusion into the wall system, which can cause decay, corosion, loss of insulation value and mold growth.
